Jazberry started because a friend was quoted four thousand dollars for a five-page site and cried about it in a car park. That felt like a solvable problem.
Why we exist
Pretty is not a compromise.
There is an unspoken rule in web design that soft, warm, feminine work is somehow less serious than a grid of grey rectangles. We think that is nonsense, and mostly a habit. A blush background and a rounded card do not make a site slower, less accessible or harder to maintain — they just make it feel like somebody cared.
So Jazberry templates are unapologetically pretty, and then the code underneath is just as tidy. Semantic HTML. Real focus states. Colour contrast that passes. Alt text already written. The parts nobody photographs.
Everything is built by hand in a plain editor. No page builder exported this, no theme framework is hiding underneath, and there is no license key that expires in a year and takes your website with it.
How we work
Four rules we do not break.
They sound obvious. Almost nobody at this end of the market actually follows them, which is more or less the entire business.
- Write the copy first. A layout designed around real sentences never breaks when real sentences arrive.
- Build it on a phone. If it is not right at 375px it is not right.
- Ship no dependency we cannot explain. If we cannot justify a library, we write the twelve lines ourselves.
- Answer the email. Support is a person, and that person built the file you are asking about.
The name
Where "Jazberry" came from.
Jaz is the studio. Berry is what happened when we spent a fortnight looking at deep pink and could not stop describing it as fruit. The mark — a leaf growing out of a web page — says what we make before you read a single word: websites, not just templates.
It also passes the only branding test that has ever mattered: you can say it down a phone line without spelling it. Everything we own is @jazberry.shop — the same string in the browser bar and on every platform, which means one thing to remember instead of four.
